Each COSI Connects Dinosaur Kit is filled with engaging, hands-on STEM activities. COSI’s education experts have created these activities to encourage inquiry-driven learning and reinforce Ohio's Learning standards.

What Happened First? - Learn all about timelines and check your knowledge of the Earth’s timeline! What do you think happened first?

Make a Fossil! - If dinosaurs lived SO long ago, how do we even know about them today? That’s where paleontologists come in. Paleontologists study fossils, which are the remains of organisms that lived long ago. Make your own model fossil with a sponge, Epsom salt, and some water.

Make an Impression! - In this activity, you’ll make a mold fossil. Decide whether you will make a footprint, trackway, or body impression.

Sedimentary Rock - Animals buried under the right conditions may become fossils in sedimentary rock. In this activity, construct layers of sediment to bury a dinosaur, then test out your excavation skills!

Document a Real Fossil - There is a REAL fossil in your box! As a certified COSI paleontologist, we will walk you through the steps you need to take to document this fossil. Be sure to store it in a safe place!
