Leave the modern world behind and step into a night bursting with 16th-century spectacle at COSI After Dark: Knights at the Museum on March 12. In partnership with the Ohio Renaissance Festival, COSI transforms into a living, breathing celebration of chivalry, charm, and playful chaos. The Queen’s Court, jesters, rogues, nobles, and rowdy pirates will roam the museum, greeting guests with the same larger-than-life spirit that fills their legendary village. Expect booming laughter, dramatic banter, and immersive character moments everywhere you turn as costumed performers bring the magic of the faire indoors, from swordplay flair to mischievous antics to moments of pure Renaissance pageantry.

Wander a lively marketplace featuring authentic festival artisans offering handcrafted goods and treasures worthy of any noble, peasant, or adventurer. Then raise a themed cocktail, gather your companions, and prepare for a night where 400 years of fun collide with the power of science, right inside COSI’s walls.

Knights Quest Scavenger Hunt
Adventure calls within the castle walls of COSI as the Ohio Renaissance Festival Character Scavenger Hunt: Choose Your Own Quest transforms the building into a roaming realm of nobles, rogues, pirates, villagers, and mystical folk waiting to be discovered. Begin your journey by picking up your quest at the Guest Services Desk, where you’ll choose your path and receive your first clue. From there, your story unfolds throughout COSI as you track down hidden characters stationed across the museum, each holding a riddle, challenge, or task that unlocks your next step. Some will test your wit, others your bravery, and a few may try to lead you astray. Collect clues, complete challenges, earn favor, and choose wisely—no two adventures are exactly alike, and the realm is waiting for you to decide what kind of legend you’ll become.

Knighting Ceremony
Join us from 7:00–8:00 PM in Gallery 1 as the spirit of the realm comes to life in a formal dubbing ceremony worthy of the crown. In true Renaissance tradition, esteemed guests will be called forth, kneel before nobility, and be recognized for their courage, service, and devotion to the kingdom. Steel will glint, banners will rise, and the royal court will bear witness as new knights are sworn into honor.

Costumes are welcome and encouraged to elevate the revelry. All outfits must follow COSI’s costume policy available here. Please note: No weapons or weapon-like props are permitted (including replicas, toys, or foam). Drinking vessels are allowed but must be non-glass and empty upon exit.
