COSI After Dark / Know Before You Go

COSI After Dark
Know Before You Go!

Thank you for your interest in COSI After Dark. Here is some information that you will need to know before coming to COSI.

GETTING TO COSI & PARKING

The City of Columbus & LAZ owns and operates both an underground and above ground garage west of COSI. There are also a variety of other parking options including street meters, surface lots and much more all within a 10 minute walk to our building. Parking rates vary based on location and other events going on in the downtown area. Click here for more details.

If you choose to use a rideshare service, you should be dropped off at the corner of Broad Street and Belle Street for easiest access to COSI’s front doors. Only the main COSI entrance which is on the West side of the building (same side as parking garage) will be open. You will not be able to enter the museum from Washington Boulevard.

GETTING INTO THE EVENT

Doors open at 6:30pm for every After Dark event.

Each attendee must be at least 21 years of age to enter COSI After Dark. A current photo ID with date of birth, will be required upon entry. No admittance will be permitted without a valid ID. Please have your digital or printed tickets ready to check-in with your ID.

If you have not pre-purchased your tickets online, please go to the General Admission desk to get your tickets.

COSI COSTUME POLICY

COSI invites you to wear themed costumes at COSI After Dark. Please observe the following policies regarding clothing and props. These rules apply to all attendees, whether or not you are wearing a costume.

Prohibited Items and Materials
  • No carried props of any kind will be permitted. Do not bring anything that is not attached to yourself or costume. This includes large props as well as small hand props such as shuriken, fans, wrenches, and other items. If we declare an item unacceptable, you must remove it from the building by storing it in your vehicle.
  • No weapons of any kind, including artificial, replica, toy, props, etc. will be allowed on the premises.
  • Do not bring or use noisemakers. This includes vuvuzela horns, cowbells, kazoos, etc.
  • Inflammable materials such as candles, fireworks, sparklers, liquid fuels or other fire hazards are strictly prohibited.
  • Your costume should not shed. Please avoid loose materials such as sand, glitter, confetti, flower petals or other items that are designed to fall, scatter or otherwise separate from your costume.
Costume Coverage Policy
  • Costumes must be street-legal and must cover, at minimum, as much as a modest bathing suit. Appropriate footwear is required at all times.
  • No fake blood that can be smeared, squirted, dripped, sprayed or be otherwise transferred to another person or surface. This includes any type of dye, food coloring, or makeup.
  • Body makeup that easily smears or transfers to any person or property cannot not be worn. Please properly seal and set all makeup so that does not happen. Staff reserves the right to spot test for proper setting of blood or makeup.
  • You must have a clear line of sight, this includes peripheral vision. Being only able to see through a tiny eye slot does NOT constitute a clear line of sight.
  • COSI staff reserves the right to make final judgment calls on what is “decent”. If staff feels that your costume is indecent or inappropriate in any way, you will be asked to change or cover it.
