Your Resource for Experiential Learning

COSI is an integral part of our learning ecosystem, which includes in-school, at-home, and community-based education. The COSI Center for School and Community Partnerships was established to enrich this ecosystem by inspiring interest in STEM and creating learning progressions for young people that connect and deepen STEM experiences over time. The Center offers a rich array of curriculum enhancing programs, connections with STEM content and partners, and COSI’s unique informal education expertise gained through 50+ years of passion for student success.

Each education program offered through the Center is designed to align with standards and connect to your learning objectives. As your partner in education, the Center assists in combining programs for customized experiences to best support your goals. Packages are offered for all grade levels and include a wide range of science topics. The Center features educators who are dedicated to creating experiences that spark curiosity in learners of all ages.

The new COSI Planetarium—the largest in Ohio—features state-of-the-art digital technology that offers an unsurpassed glimpse of our incredible universe. The COSI Planetarium’s new Digistar 5 projection system and 60-foot dome will transport you to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, to undersea volcanoes and distant lands, and even into the human body. Wildest Weather in the Solar System

Take a spectacular journey to witness the most beautiful, powerful, and mysterious weather phenomena in the solar system. From a storm the size of a 100-megaton hydrogen bomb, to a 400-year-old hurricane, to a dust tempest that could engulf entire planets, you'll be glad you live on Earth! Fly through the thick atmosphere of Venus, magnetic storms on the sun, liquid methane showers on Titan, and anticyclones whirling at hundreds of miles per hour on Jupiter. Running time: 25 minutes.

With the help of an astronomer, the Internet, an astronaut, books, and the writer of a mysterious note, Jack and Annie are taken on a wondrous journey of adventure and learning. This exciting voyage will carry visitors to the planets and far out into the Universe where Jack and Annie nearly get… Well, we don’t want to give it away. The adventure is just beginning! Running time: Approximately 35 minutes.

Space Park 360

SpacePark360 is a set of fulldome movies designed to recreate the experience of amusement park thrill rides - roller coasters, pendulums, inverters and more. Seen from the rider's perspective, SpacePark360 takes the state-of-the-art technologies of fulldome systems and combines them with heart pounding thrill rides to create a unique entertainment show never seen before on the dome. From the tops of Jupiter's clouds to the icy depths of Neptune's moon Triton, each location serves to heighten the thrilling experience. Please note: this particular show has the extreme motion of amusement park rides that could cause motion sickness. Running time: Approximately 38 minutes.

This live show lets you ask COSI’s Chief Scientist, Dr. Paul Sutter, your favorite questions about science and the universe in a dynamic Q&A format. You direct the show as the 60-foot dome in COSI’s Planetarium showcases visuals that help answer your deep questions. Show length: approximately 30 minutes.

Asteroid: Mission Extreme

Asteroid: Mission Extreme takes audiences on an epic journey to discover the possibilities that asteroids present for space travel. Using stunning visuals and state-of-the-art computer graphics, the film presents the fascinating idea, based on real science, that asteroids could be used as stepping stones to other worlds, veritable “way stations” in space enabling us to cross the entire solar system. Running time: Approximately 25 minutes.
