Exploring Plants at COSI

Be sure to visit Big Science Park during your next trip to COSI. There you will see our new container garden featuring a variety of herbs and produce. This garden, which was made possible thanks to support from The Scotts Miracle-Gro Community Garden Academy Fund of The Columbus Foundation, was created in partnership with the George Washington Carver Food Research Institute.  Some of the produce harvested from the garden will be used to feed COSI’s animal collection. Any additional produce will be donated to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. We hope you will enjoy watching our garden grow this summer and fall.

COSI Autism Activities Event: Exploring Art!

This past Sunday COSI held our second Autism Activities Event of the year. We welcomed over 200 guests as they not only had a chance to explore all of COSI’s classic exhibits, but also had fun exploring art with 3 guest artists. Thanks to Tracy Settle, Charlotte McGraw and Eric Marlow, event attendees took part in fun, adaptive art activities.

Summer is the right time to learn about frogs!

On Tuesday, June 24th, COSI staff visited the Primrose School at Polaris in Westerville to present a frog workshop for toddlers. The children experienced the natural habitat of frogs and pretended to be frogs themselves in COSI’s make-believe lily pond.

Columbus Teacher Raises Over $1,000 Online for COSI Field Trip

Amy Koogler's students love science.

The Highland Elementary School teacher wasn't about to let financial challenges stop her from bringing her 300 students to COSI on a field trip this spring. Amy used a website called donorschoose.org to raise more than $1,000 from eleven donors, including Disney, to make her school's field trip possible.
