COSI Explores Mars in New Interactive Video Conference
Columbus, OH – COSI is excited to announce its newest Interactive Videoconference program, Engineering Challenge.  Participating students will investigate the challenges of life on Mars and space exploration through hands-on activities and two engaging videoconference sessions. The program begins with one of our dynamic educators who will demonstrate what life is like on Mars using liquid nitrogen, a vacuum chamber, and an experiment to generate pure oxygen.  Students will then be challenged to build their own wheels for a remotely operated vehicle.  A few weeks later, COSI connects them with a subject matter expert at NASA to discuss the challenges and successes of their wheel designs and explore career opportunities in engineering.

Engineering Challenge is geared towards students in grades five through eight.  However, COSI offers several Interactive Videoconference programs for learners of all ages.  COSI’s Interactive Videoconference programs connect students with scientists, doctors, and experts in their fields with a LIVE interactive two-way experience from their school or from COSI.  Other programs include In Depth: Autopsy, Surgical Suite: Total Knee Replacement, Gadget Works, Forensic Psychology, YOU Become the Pharmacist, and In Depth: Kidney Transplant.
