Stage Experiences Internship (click for details)

Objective

Support COSI’s Floor Faculty programs by learning the set of Atrium Stage shows and assist with related administrative, training, and mentoring duties related to the Atrium Stage.

Education/Experience

Ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills, is energetic and flexible, able to coordinate diverse tasks, able to establish good working relationships with team members, and has excellent verbal and written communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent; current enrollment in a related course of study (e.g. theater or the sciences) at the collegiate level. Previous experience with stage presentation preferred. This position is eligible for course credit; it is the intern’s responsibility to inquire with their advisors and professors to see if they can use this experience towards course credit.

Duties & Responsibilities

A. Master the two core shows presented on the Atrium Stage: Electrostatic Generator and Rat Basketball
B. Assist the Atrium Stage Manager in transcribing and analyzing attendance data from stage shows.
C. After mastery of shows, actively participating in training and evaluation of paid team and volunteers.
D. Support general COSI operations through participation in team meetings and extended training opportunities, such as COSI University.
E. Serve as an example to other COSI Team Members and Volunteers in matters of appearance, attitude, and performance in a manner best serving COSI paid and Volunteer Team Members and Guests.
F. In accordance with COSI's Guest Services Strategy, and as opportunities present themselves, provide excellence in Guest Services by assuring Guest safety, using courtesy to drive each Guest interaction, by delivering the COSI show, and by keeping operations efficient.
G. Perform other duties as assigned.
