Camp COSI On Wheels Intern (click for details)

Objective

Support COSI’s Camp COSI on Wheels Program through researching and developing camp activities, assisting the lead camp teacher during camp days, and providing exceptional educational experiences for all Camp COSI on Wheels participants.

Education/Experience

Ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills, is energetic and flexible, able to coordinate diverse tasks, able to establish good working relationships with team members, and has excellent verbal and written communication skills. Works well with all age groups of students. Willing and able to travel in a COSI vehicle (accompanied by another COSI team member) to camp locations in Columbus and surrounding counties. High School diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with children is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities

A. Work with the Senior Manager of Camp-in and the Manager of Camp-In to research and develop camp activities.
B. Aide in preparing and tear down of camp programming.
C. Gain experience through assisting and teaching camp programming.
D. Practice behavior and classroom management through assisting in camp programming.
E. Commit to 15-20 hours per week and attend 1 full week of half-day camp programming.
F. Work with the Senor Manager and Manager of Camp-In to strengthen program development skills by helping with preparations and organization of the Camp COSI on Wheels Program.
G. Complete a Capstone portfolio highlighting experiences with Camp COSI on Wheels.
H. Support general COSI operations through participation in team meetings and extended training opportunities, such as COSI University.
