Hallway Exhibitions

In 2012, COSI initiated an effort to improve the visual appeal and experience of our hallways and circulation spaces. With limited funding, we developed a combination of temporary experiences, painting, and permanent exhibit acquisitions. An effort was made to include content that would appeal to adults as well as family groups. The new experiences are planned with a nod to our permanent exhibit areas and grouped in collections as opposed to singular exhibits.

From gorgeous photography to thought-prevoking collections, enjoy these free, limited-engagement displays on your next visit.

Teen Tech Studio

Teens can hang out, mess around, and geek out in COSI's Teen Tech Studio during selected hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays to work with COSI mentors and explore technology. COSI's Teen Tech Studio offers multimedia activities for middle and high school students, including audio/video production, 3D modeling, and video game design.

Using Apple's Logic Pro and Garageband software and audio freeware, COSI's teen tech studio is a fully outfitted audio production space that allows teens to develop their skills in making beats with virtual instruments, using microphones to record voices and acoustic instruments, and taking that audio through the final process of editing and mixing. COSI's video editing workshops and summer camps are presented in collaboration with WOSU Public Media and focus on allowing teens to learn lighting, filming, and editing techniques through the use of professional grade DSLR cameras, green screens, and Abode's Premiere software. The Teen Tech Studio also features 3D printers, Makey Makeys, video game consoles, and platforms for game and controller design.

COSI Academy

COSI Academy is a career exploration program for high school students considering science, technology, engineering, math, and health careers. Academy students meet at COSI on the first Saturday of each month from October through May with additional opportunities throughout the school year.

COSI Academy students meet at COSI on the first Saturday of each month from October to May. Each meeting includes a field trip to area labs and technology companies, or to colleges and universities offering science programs. In addition to monthly meetings and field trips during the school year, COSI Academy students take a one day college visit in early summer.

"I've been obsessed with science for as long as I can remember. I have an innate need to understand the world around me. Although some of that need is met through advanced science classes and independent study, nothing has opened me to the world of science like COSI Academy... COSI Academy has given me more opportunities than I'd have ever dreamed of, and I've loved every minute of it." --Laura, Dublin Coffman Senior

Annual COSI Academy tuition includes all monthly meetings and monthly field trips: $325 for COSI Members; $400 for nonmembers.

Scholarships are available.
