For schools, homeschool families, or individuals without access to videoconference equipment, live audiences are welcome to participate in Surgical Suite: Total Knee Replacement and In Depth: Autopsy from the comfort of COSI’s Galaxy Theater located on Level 2. Crazy Coasters

Explore force and motion as your class works together to build a roller coaster. Put the force of gravity to work in COSI’s marble challenge.

Cow Eye Dissection

Diagrams can only take you so far. To really understand what’s going on inside of the eye, why not cut one open? An experienced COSI Team Member will lead your class through an exciting, slimy, and scientific dissection of a cow’s eye in order to better understand how your own eyes function. Lasts one hour and accommodates 35 students.

COSI Academy

COSI Academy is a career exploration program for high school students considering science, technology, engineering, math, and health careers. Academy students meet at COSI on the first Saturday of each month from October through May with additional opportunities throughout the school year.

COSI Academy students meet at COSI on the first Saturday of each month from October to May. Each meeting includes a field trip to area labs and technology companies, or to colleges and universities offering science programs. In addition to monthly meetings and field trips during the school year, COSI Academy students take a one day college visit in early summer.

COSI Academy is currently sold out. Applications for 2014-2015 will open in mid-June 2014.

Annual COSI Academy tuition includes all monthly meetings and monthly field trips: $325 for COSI Members; $400 for nonmembers.

Current Conditions

Bring the amazing world of weather into your school with COSI's Current Conditions program. With the help of COSI's "meteorologist-in-training," you'll explore how weather affects life on Earth everyday and learn about technology used by today's top forecasters. Students will test their forecasting skills, explore meteorological instruments, and discover why it's important to monitor extreme weather events.

Cycle of Seasons

Cycle of Seasons is designed to introduce students to the four seasons. This program begins with an investigation that will help students identify and observe different characteristics of the seasons. Preschool Outreach is a 45 minute session that consists of a group demonstration and activity centers with each session accommodating 20 or fewer students. The session times are scheduled by the person at your school who coordinates the Preschool Outreach event.

Cabbage Patch Chemistry: Sizzling Acids & Fizzling Bases

Students cure a patient's belly blunders by using cabbage juice to identify the acids and bases in his diet. Concepts: acid/base chemistry, chemical reactions, human anatomy & physiology.

Explore the chemistry, physics, and biology that go into crime scene investigations as you use observation, inference, and problem-solving skills to see how crimes are solved. Includes admission to The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes.

COSI After Dark - a 21+ Event (August 7, 2014)

Geek out with grown-ups and fly a quadcopter inside COSI! Log some hands-on flight time with radio-controlled multirotor helicopters and be one of the first to try out COSI's quadcopter Aerial Battle Arena. Plus, explore classic COSI exhibitions, get lost in Adventure, check out special themed activities, and enjoy a cash bar. Plus, this is your last chance to investigate The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes at COSI without kids. Also enjoy live music: Columbus' Alt Pop band, Kid Runner at 8pm. Please note that sell-outs are possible. Walk-up COSI After Dark tickets will be available at the COSI Box Office for $16 ($10 for COSI Members). Timed admission tickets to The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes are $6 for COSI Members, $8 for nonmembers and can be purchased at the COSI Box Office on your arrival.
