COSI's T&I Specialist, Ryan Westhoven, recently built our first "moppy player". What's a moppy player? It's a series of 3 1/2 floppy computer drives (8, in this case) programmed and controlled through the use of an Arduino controller.
If you're already familiar with using Arduinos and moppy players, check out this site for pre-made code that can controller your own contraptions.
And if you're new to Arduino, you can learn more about it at http://www.arduino.cc/. You can also check out the capability of moppy players by watching the attached videos, the first of which demonstrates how we control our player in real-time through the use of a USB midi-controller. They can also be controlled through Java-based coding.
More Arduino projects coming soon...
